Pasternak & Fidis Launches New Online Resource That Compares Trust Laws in Maryland, DC and Virginia – DCMetroTrustCode.com

Pasternak & Fidis, P.C. announces the launch of a new online resource that compares the trust laws governing Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia to the Uniform Trust Code. The website provides side-by-side comparison of the statutes along with annotations, making it a convenient and highly valuable tool for lawyers, trust officers, and financial professionals who work with trusts in the DC metro area.

“Trusts and estates professionals operating in the Washington Metropolitan must be well acquainted with three different sets of state laws governing trusts,” said Nancy Fax, managing partner of Pasternak & Fidis. “Our Estate Planning group developed this resource for our own work, and it has helped us immeasurably in serving our clients. We want to share it with our colleagues, in the hopes that they find it as useful as we do.”

To create this online resource, Pasternak & Fidis created a line-by-line comparison between the Uniform Trust Code and the three other codes, highlighting the differences in each article in an easy-to-follow format. Partners Nancy Fax and Alex Tanouye provided additional commentary and annotations. Pasternak & Fidis will update the website as new developments occur.

The full title of the website, which can be found at DCMetroTrustCode.com, is: “DC Metro Trust Code Comparison by Pasternak & Fidis: A Comparison of Uniform Trust Code, DC Trust Code, Maryland Trust Act, and Virginia Trust Code with Annotations.”
