Carolyn P. Vinson

Carolyn P. Vinson focuses her practice on estate planning and related areas of federal and state tax law, including estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax. Ms. Vinson works closely with her clients--individuals, couples and families--to achieve the results they desire in their estate plans. She has significant experience in drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents. Ms. Vinson advises clients on asset allocation and planning for retirement and life insurance benefits. She has a particular interest in planned giving and provides guidance to clients on charitable gift planning. Ms. Vinson also has a special interest in providing estate planning guidance to married couples in which one spouse is not a citizen of the United States.
Before joining the firm in 2006, Ms. Vinson practiced law at Covington & Burling and clerked for a federal district court judge.
A native Washingtonian, Ms. Vinson enjoys volunteer activities for the National Cathedral School and Children’s National Medical Center, travel, tennis, pilates, reading and cooking, but, most of all, raising her three young children.
